Abstract

The paper deals with the great changes which took place in the institutional setting, organisation, governance and policy of the air transport sector. Market liberalisation, privatisation and consolidation processes are analysed, particular reference being given to the need for a greater effort at framing a coherent system's architecture and promoting regulated competition.
