Abstract

Az új intézményi közgazdaságtan egyike a modern közgazdaság-tudomány iskoláinak. Sikerességben egyértelműen maga mögött hagyta a régi institucionalizmust, amelynek "meddőségét" többek között a teoretikus megközelítés, valamint az egységes terminológia hiánya okozhatta. De vajon a terminológia egységességében előrelépett-e az új intézményi közgazdaságtan? Beszélhetünk-e ezáltal egy közös nyelvezeten nyugvó, egységes elméleti alapról? Jelen tanulmányban e kérdésekre keressük a választ. Ehhez az intézmény, a tökéletlen racionalitás és a tranzakciós költségek fogalmainak az iskola Nobel-emlékdíjas szerzőinél használt értelmezéseit hasonlítjuk össze. Amellett érvelünk, hogy az említett terminusokon az irányzat fő képviselői hasonló fogalmakat értenek ugyan, ám mélyebb értelmezésük korántsem teljesen egységes: eltérések tapasztalhatók mind egymáshoz viszonyítva, mind a tankönyvi, mind a gyakorlati használathoz képest.* Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) kód: B25, B31, B52.
