A monetáris unió és Magyarország
[The monetary union and Hungary]

Abstract

Ez az írás a monetáris unió és a keleti kibővítés kapcsolatának néhány aspektusát elemzi a magyar gazdaságpolitika szempontjából. Rövid elméleti áttekintés után azokat a lehetőségeket és módokat ismerteti, ahogyan Magyarország kapcsolódhat a monetáris unióhoz, majd megvizsgálja, hogy ezek közül melyek, mikor és milyen feltételek teljesülése esetén felelnek meg a magyar gazdaság igényeinek, valamint ezeknek mi a realitása, figyelembe véve az EU-nak a belső mechanizmusaiból levezethető várható magatartását. A végkövetkeztetés: amennyiben Magyarország tagja lesz az EU-nak, az EMU-tagság előnyös lenne, a szigorú felvételi kritériumok miatt azonban nem feltétlenül érdemes sietni a belépéssel. Szükség lenne azonban valamilyen árfolyam-mechanizmussal kötődni a monetáris unióhoz már az uniós tagság előtt is, erre azonban nincs sok remény.
