EU-tagságunk tíz éve a pénzügyi szektor perspektívájából
[Ten years EU membership for the financial sector]

Abstract

A 2004-ben belépő kelet-közép-európai országok egy merőben más Európai Unióhoz csatlakoztak, mint amilyenbe a felvételüket kérték: többek között gyors ütemben előrehaladt a pénzügyi integráció, és néhány magországban bevezették az eurót. A csatlakozást megelőző és az azt követő években nagy tömegű tőke áramlott térségünk országaiba, gyors ütemű gazdasági növekedést generálva. Ez a növekedés azonban - különösen a 2008-2009-es nemzetközi pénzügyi válság következtében - fenntarthatatlannak bizonyult. E tanulmány pénzügyi-szabályozási szemszögből azokat az intézkedéseket tekinti át, amelyeket az Európai Unió intézményei, illetve tagállamai hoztak a válság hatásainak elhárítására, és megvizsgálja, vajon az EU kialakulóban lévő új gazdaságirányítási modellje, az újfajta economic governance képes lesz-e visszavezetni a tagállamokat a fenntartható növekedés pályájára. Mottóként az "Európa atyjaként" is emlegetett államférfitől származó olyan idézetet választott a szerző, amely egy mondatban fejti ki, hogy miként fejlődik az európai integráció. Jean Monnet gondolata frappáns válasz mindazok aggodalmára, akik a közelmúlt pénzügyi válsága, illetve néhány tagállam szuverén adósságválsága miatt túlzottan sötéten látják az Európai Unió jövőjét.
