Qualitative und quantitative Umfragedaten – ein Vergleich auf Mikroebene

Abstract

Dieser Beitrag versucht zu klären, wie quantitative und qualitative Angaben schweizerischer Unternehmen zu ihrer Investitionstätigkeit, die in je einer Umfrage erhoben werden, zusammenhängen. Die Analyse setzt – im Unterschied zu den meisten anderen – auf der Ebene der einzelnen Unternehmen an. Die Verwendung von Mikrodaten erlaubt es, die Beziehung zwischen quantitativen und qualitativen Daten bzw. das entsprechende Antwortverhalten auf desaggregierter Ebene zu modellieren. Zudem lassen sich die Verteilungsannahmen üblicher Quantifizierungsmethoden überprüfen. Die Analyse zeigt, dass die beiden Antworttypen in den meisten Fällen in sich konsistente Resultate liefern. Zudem wird nachgewiesen, dass die verbreitete Annahme einer parametrischen Verteilung der Antworten der einzelnen Firmen (z.B. Normalverteilung) zugunsten einer nicht-parametrischen Verteilung zu verwerfen ist. Schliesslich zeigen Schätzungen von Reaktionsfunktionen das direkte Zusammenspiel der qualitativen und quantitativen Antworten.
