Abstract

This study examines the human risk factors associated with pilots in runway incursions. We applied a human factors model to categorize the risk factors based on the opinions of 112 airline pilots. We focus on Taiwan's airlines and civil aviation authority and integrates expert opinions about the relative improvement potential of four strategies for airline pilots to reduce runway incursions. Experts weighed 37 preliminary and 25 primary pilot risk factors.
