Abstract

•Findings regarding the relationship between national culture and corporate environmental responsibility (CER) are conflicting.•We perform three robustness analyses, regarding dimensions of national culture, measures of CER, and estimation techniques.•Our findings show that no dimension of national culture has a fully robust relationship with CER.
