The ethics gap between Britain and the United States: A comparison of the state of business ethics in both countries

Author

Listed:
  • Schlegelmilch, Bodo

Abstract

This article contrasts the development in business ethics in Britain and the United States. Specifically, it focuses on the institutionalization of ethical guidelines in the form of so-called corporate codes of ethics and compares the results of a recently conducted British survey with American findings on the subject. Views of executives on the usefulness of such codes are also presented.
