Un Índice Regional de Competitividad para un país

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se presenta una propuesta para eldesarrollo de un Índice de Competitividad Regional de un país queforma parte de una investigación integral de medición del nivel decompetitividad. Con esta propuesta se aspira a posicionar un nuevoenfoque para la competitividad, al medir cómo en determinada regiónde un país se administran los recursos y capacidades para incrementarsostenidamente la productividad empresarial y el bienestar de supoblación. Se identificaron los determinantes de la competitividad delas regiones, denominándolos pilares: i); gobierno e instituciones;ii); desarrollo económico; iii); infraestructura productiva; iv); capitalhumano, y v); eficiencia de las empresas. Para cada uno de ellos seidentificaron cinco factores y sus variables con que se miden diversosaspectos de la competitividad regional. Estos constituyen un segundoy tercer nivel de desagregación que aportan al análisis que se puederealizar con los resultados que se obtengan.
