Sürdürülebilir Geliþme Baðlamýnda Çevresel-Sosyal Faktörler ile Ekonomik Büyüme Arasýndaki Ýliþkiler

Abstract

Son yýllarýn öne çýkan kavramý sürdürülebilir geliþme, ekonomik büyümenin yaný sýra sosyal, kültürel ve çevresel alanlarda da geliþimi içermektedir. Bu düþünceye göre ekonomik büyümenin ve dolayýsýyla iktisadi refahýn sürdürülebilirliði sosyal ve çevresel sürdürülebilirliðe de baðlý bulunmaktadýr. Bu çalýþmanýn amacý, çevresel ve sosyal faktörler ile ekonomik büyüme arasýndaki iliþkileri yüksek gelirli ve orta gelirli ülkelerden oluþan iki örneklem için araþtýrmaktýr. Bu amaçla hazýrlanan çalýþmada 48 yüksek gelirli ve 63 orta gelirli ülke için 1998-2015 dönemini kapsayan yýllýk veriler kullanýlmýþtýr. 1998-2012 dönemini kapsayan çalýþmada panel veri analiz yöntemi kullanýlmýþtýr. Söz konusu iliþkilerin sýnanmasý için oluþturulan modelde sürdürülebilir geliþme baðlamýnda çevresel deðiþkenler, sosyal deðiþkenler ve büyümeyi etkileyebilecek diðer kontrol deðiþkenleri olmak üzere üç farklý deðiþken seti oluþturulmuþtur. Çalýþmada elde edilen sonuçlara göre, yüksek gelirli ve orta gelirli ülkelerde sosyal ve çevresel faktörler büyümenin önemli birer belirleyicisi durumundadýr. Buna göre, ekonomik, sosyal ve çevresel politikalar arasýnda uyum saðlanmasý sürdürülebilir bir ekonomik geliþmenin saðlanmasýnda önemli rol oynamaktadýr.
