La coyuntura macroeconómica reciente

Abstract

Resumen: Este artículo presenta una visión de la coyuntura económica del pasado reciente en América Latina y Colombia. Se hace especial énfasis en los aspectos determinantes de la buena situación en la región y se somete a discusión si los buenos resultados son consecuencia de políticas macroeconómicas saludables o, por el contrario, son un resultadode factores externos como los buenos precios de las commodities y de los términos de intercambio, las entradas de capitales externos y las remesas de inmigrantes. La tendencia de las cifras, tanto fiscales como de agregados de los sectores externo e interno, revelan que incluso en la fase expansiva del ciclo económico las economías de la región gastaron excesivamente, igual que Colombia.
