Abstract

Resumen: Con base en la Información de la Encuesta Anual Manufacturera de 1956 a 2007, en este trabajo se encuentra una relación directa entre la creación de establecimientos y la creación de empleo. Sin desconocer el efecto del empleo como costo laboral, se reivindica el carácter del empleo como demanda derivada de la actividad económica. Se propone modificar el modelo de desarrollo para orientar la economía hacia la diversificación productiva en actividades intensivas en tecnología y capital humano de manera que se genere empleo de alta calidad.
