Financiación de la innovación en las Mipyme iberoamericanas

Abstract

La innovación permite a las empresas lograr ventajas competitivas sostenibles en el tiempo y representa un elemento determinante del crecimiento económico. En este sentido, la financiación ha sido mencionada frecuentemente como una barrera importante para llevar a cabo actividades de innovación. Este trabajo analiza la relación entre las fuentes de financiación y la innovación en las Mipyme Iberoamericanas. El análisis se basa en los resultados de una encuesta adelantada en una muestra de 1.970 empresas a partir de lo cual se encontró una relación positiva significativa entre la utilización de la financiación ajena y la actividad innovadora. Lo anterior llama la atención, dada la importancia de mecanismos que faciliten a las empresas Mipyme acceder a la obtención de recursos financieros de deuda con el fin de lograr niveles altos de innovación.
