Armut in regionaler Sicht – Befunde und Handlungsempfehlungen

Abstract

In der öffentlichen Wahrnehmung ist von vermeintlich skandalösen Armutszahlen und einer sich immer weiter öffnenden Schere zwischen Arm und Reich zu hören. Durch diese Pauschalurteile wird allerdings der Blick darauf verstellt, wo konkret Handlungsbedarf besteht, welchen Gruppen wie am besten zu helfen ist und welche Regionen am meisten von Armut und Ungleichheit betroffen sind, wenn man regionale Preisunterschiede einbezieht. In dem Beitrag analysieren Klaus-Heiner Röhl und Christoph Schröder, Institut der deutschen Wirtschaft Köln, Armut und Armutsgefährdung in Deutschland auf regionaler Ebene und schlagen Maßnahmen zur Armutsbekämpfung, die mit regionalpolitischen Instrumenten verknüpft sind, vor.
