Zuschussrente: die Diskussion um die Altersarmutsgefährdung

Abstract

688 € Rente im Jahr 2030 für einen sozialversicherten Beschäftigten, der 35 Jahre lang 2.500 € brutto monatlich verdient hat. Mit dieser Hiobsbotschaft erschreckte das BUNDESMINISTERIUM FÜR ARBEIT UND SOZIALES (BMAS) Anfang September 2012 die Öffentlichkeit. Gleichzeitig wurde in den Medien berichtet, dass aktuell fast ein Drittel der Arbeitnehmer weniger als 2.500 € brutto im Monat verdient [BILD AM SONNTAG (2012)]. So wurde der Schluss gezogen, dass eine breite Schicht von Arbeitnehmern zukünftig einem erheblichen Altersarmutsrisiko ausgesetzt ist. In der aufkeimenden Diskussion um das Für und Wider einer Zuschussrente sind jedoch wichtige Punkte beiseitegeschoben worden.
