Abstract

Focussing on Occupational Safety and Health of the Temporary Staff this article discusses two problematic issues of the managerial field of action with high empirical relevance. The occupational health situation of temporary contract workers is characterized by data of a representative survey of the German labour force and the findings of qualitative field research within different companies. Compared to a matched group of non-temporary contract workers the health relevant stresses, strains and resources can be depicted. The results illustrate a lot of disadvantages for the temporary contract workers. The content explains these deficits among other topics by the erosion of the relevant institutional framework in the last two decades.
