Wachsende Unsicherheiten: Arbeitslosigkeit und Einkommensverluste bei Wiederbeschäftigung

Abstract

Dieses Papier befasst sich mit den Folgen von Arbeitslosigkeit für das Erwerbseinkommen. Ziel ist es zu ergründen, wie sich die Dauer einer Arbeitslosigkeitsphase und das Ausmaß bisher erfahrener Arbeitslosigkeit im Erwerbsverlauf auf das Einkommen bei Wiederbeschäftigung auswirken und wie sich diese Einflüsse mit der jeweiligen Arbeitsmarktsituation verändern. Die Analysen auf Basis von Längsschnittdaten des Forschungsdatenzentrums der Deutschen Rentenversicherung zeigen, dass eine Betrachtung individueller Bildungs- bzw. Suchanstrengungen in diesem Zusammenhang nicht ausreicht. Vielmehr muss das individuelle Arbeitslosigkeitsereignis in den Kontext der allgemeinen Arbeitsmarktbedingungen gestellt und die Nachfragesituation berücksichtigt werden. Die Ergebnisse deuten auf wachsende Unsicherheiten durch zunehmend instabile Erwerbskarrieren hin.
