Organisationslernen und Wissensmanagement: Überlegungen zur Entwicklung und zum Stand des Forschungsfeldes

Abstract

Organisationslernen und Wissensmanagement sind in der Organisationsforschung als anerkannte Forschungsbereiche und in der Organisationspraxis zu einem festen Bestandteil von Veränderungsprozessen geworden. Der Beitrag beschreibt die Entwicklung des Feldes und hebt wesentliche Ergebnisse hervor. Eine Einordnung der bedeutendsten Veränderungen auf dem Gebiet des Organisationslernens und der Wissensgenerierung über die letzten drei Jahrzehnten erfolgt in acht Dimensionen, die die wichtigsten Aspekte der Theorie und Praxis von Organisationslernen beleuchten. Die Wurzeln der Theorieentwicklung zu Organisationslernen liegen in den 1960er und 70er Jahren im angelsächsischen Raum von Organisationswissenschaftlern auf der Basis von Fallstudien und unter fast ausschließlicher Betrachtung des Topmanagements. Im Laufe der folgenden Jahrzehnte wurden die wissenschaftlichen Untersuchungen jedoch auf immer unterschiedlichere Organisationsformen ausgedehnt: von privatwirtschaftlichen Unternehmen auf staatliche, nichtstaatliche und sogar virtuelle Organisationen. Die unterschiedlichsten Wissenschaftstraditionen, von der Psychologie über die Gesellschaftswissenschaften bis hin zu Wirtschaftswissenschaften, leisteten ihren Beitrag zum besseren Verständnis des Prozesses von Organisationslernen und Wissensmanagement. Die Forschung erweiterte ihren Blickwinkel auch dadurch, dass Akteure aus verschiedensten Hierarchieebenen in die Untersuchungen einbezogen wurden. In den vergangenen zehn Jahren wurden politische und emotionale Dimensionen von Organisationslernprozessen in der Praxis des Organisationslernens und dessen wissenschaftlich-intellektueller Rezeption als relevant erkannt.
