Ethnische Diskriminierung im deutschen Schulsystem? Theoretische Überlegungen und empirische Ergebnisse

Abstract

In diesem Bericht wird der Frage nachgegangen, ob und gegebenenfalls in welchem Ausmaß ethnische Diskriminierungen im deutschen Schulsystem praktiziert werden und welche Bedeutung dem Phänomen in einer Erklärung ethnischer Bildungsungleichheit im Vergleich zu anderen Einflussgrößen zukommen könnte. Nach einer Beschreibung verschiedener theoretischer Perspektiven und einer knappen Diskussion des Problems der geeigneten Messung folgt ein Überblick zum derzeit bestehenden, empirisch belastbaren Wissens zur ethnischen Diskriminierung in den Leistungsbeurteilungen der Lehrkräfte im deutschen Grundschulsystem. Es wird gezeigt, dass sich derzeit keine Hinweise auf eine Schlechterstellung von Kindern aus Zuwandererfamilien aufgrund von Diskriminierungen bei den Leistungseinschätzungen finden lassen. Mit Blick auf die empirische Relevanz des Phänomens im Vergleich zu anderen Größen lässt sich anhand weiterer Studien belegen, dass die in der Bundesrepublik zu beobachtenden ethnischen Ungleichheiten im Bildungssystem in erster Linie sozioökonomischer Art sind. Ethnische Diskriminierungen spielen demnach keine Schlüsselrolle bei der Erklärung der bestehenden Bildungsunterschiede.
