Rekonstruktion der historischen Entwicklung der Wirtschaftsinformatik: Schritte der Institutionalisierung, Diskussionen zum Status, Rahmenempfehlungen für die Lehre

Abstract

Dieser Forschungsbericht entstand im Rahmen des von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft geförderten Projektes IFWIS (Internationaler Vergleich der Forschungsprogramme von Wirtschaftsinformatik und Information Systems), welches auf den Vergleich der Disziplinen Wirtschaftsinformatik (WI) und Information Systems (im nordamerikanischen Raum) zielt. Vor diesem Hintergrund ist dieser Bericht auf eine deskriptive Rekonstruktion der historischen Entwicklung des Fachs Wirtschaftsinformatik seit den 1950er Jahren gerichtet. Dazu wird entsprechend früherer Ergebnisse des IFWISProjekts auf ausgewählte Forschungsfragen zur Ausrichtung und zum Erfolg der Disziplin fokussiert. Zur Beantwortung dieser Fragen werden im Rahmen einer Literaturanalyse drei grundlegende Aspekte der historischen Entwicklung untersucht: (1) die Institutionalisierung des Fachs an Universitäten und auf Verbandsebene, sowie wissenschaftliche Zeitschriften und Konferenzen; (2) Diskussionen zum Status der Disziplin bzw. zu Schwierigkeiten und Herausforderungen; (3) Rahmenempfehlungen zur Universitätsausbildung als Indikator für die Ausrichtung und den Reifegrad des Fachs in der Lehre. Als Ergebnis der Analyse - und gestützt durch weitere Arbeiten aus dem Kontext des IFWIS-Projekts - werden Thesen zur Entwicklung und zum Status der Wirtschaftsinformatik formuliert. Abschließend wird auf Basis dieser Thesen ein Vergleich zum nordamerikanischen Information Systems vorgenommen.
