Individualismus, Holismus und Systemismus: Erörterung metatheoretischer Sichtweisen in den Sozialwissenschaften

Abstract

Die Entwicklung betriebs- und volkswirtschaftlicher Forschungsprogramme beruht auf der wissenschaftlichen und technologischen Leistungsfähigkeit der ihnen zugrunde liegenden Metatheorien. Es lassen sich drei allgemeine und kohärente metatheoretische Standpunkte unterscheiden, die als Individualismus, Holismus und Systemismus bekannt sind. Die gegenwärtige Diskussionslage ist immer noch durch den Widerstreit von individualistischen und holistischen Positionen gekennzeichnet, die zu tragischen Reduktionen in den Forschungsprogrammen geführt haben. Sie können durch den Systemismus vermieden werden. Der vorliegende Beitrag möchte die bestehenden metatheoretischen Positionen skizzieren, ihre Unterschiede erörtern und das Verständnis für bestehende Probleme und Konflikte schärfen.
