Die individuelle Vorteilhaftigkeit der privaten Rentenversicherung: Steuervorteile, Lebenserwartung und Stornorisiken

Abstract

Aufgrund der Erkenntnis über die demographische Entwicklung hin zu einer immer älter werdenden Gesellschaft und deren Folgen auf die Höhe der gesetzlichen Rente, rückt eine private Altersvorsorge für die Bevölkerung Deutschlands immer mehr in den Mittelpunkt des Interesses. Lebens- und Rentenversicherungsprodukte eignen sich besonders zur Schließung der individuellen Versorgungslücke im Alter. Während die Vorteilhaftigkeit von Kapitallebensversicherungen in der deutschen Literatur bereits weitgehend unter z. T. heftigen Auseinandersetzungen1 analysiert wurde, finden sich keine entsprechenden Untersuchungen für private Rentenversicherungen. In der englischsprachigen Literatur wurde die Notwendigkeit einer Analyse für private Rentenversicherungen bereits von Warshawsky (1988) erkannt, wobei er wie auch viele andere Autoren2 neben einer Analyse auf Basis von Erwartungswerten eine Nutzenanalyse der auf Lebenszeit garantierten Rentenzahlung in den Mittelpunkt seiner Untersuchung stellt. In folgendem Beitrag wird die Vorteilhaftigkeit einer privaten Rentenversicherung unter streng anlegerorientierten Gesichtspunkten ermittelt, welche unter Zugrundelegung eines risikoneutralen Investors auf Basis von Erwartungswerten geführt wird. Von besonderem Interesse ist die Implementierung der Steuern in das jeweilige Kalkül und ihre Wirkung auf die Vorteilhaftigkeit der Alternativen. Um eine möglichst realitätsnahe Untersuchung des Modells gewährleisten zu können, werden Angebote von privaten Rentenversicherungen analysiert und die unsichere zukünftige Entwicklung des Lebensverlaufes des Versicherten berücksichtigt.
