Liechtensteins neuere Wirtschaftshistorie: Ergebnisse der ökonometrischen Verlängerung ökonomischer Zeitreihen

Abstract

Nicht nur die Kleinheit Liechtensteins und die daraus folgende Exotik, diesen Klein(st)staat als Untersuchungsgegenstand zu wählen, haben bisher dazu geführt, dass erst eine sehr überschaubare ökonomische Literatur zu diesem Thema existiert. Ökonomische oder wirtschaftshistorische Analysen werden zudem vom Umstand erschwert, dass die Basis ökonomischer Zeitreihen in Liechtenstein sehr spärlich ist, viele Daten gar nicht vorliegen und falls doch, dann nur wenige Jahre zurück in die Vergangenheit. Dies ist auch bei wichtigen Grössen wie beispielsweise dem Bruttoinlandsprodukt oder dem Volkseinkommen der Fall. Gerade im Kontext von Wachstums- und Konjunkturanalyse (und der Konjunkturprognose) ist dies eine Hypothek. In den meisten forschungsbezogenen Anwendungen bis anhin konnten deshalb ökonometrische/zeitreihenanalytische Methoden wegen der Kürze des Stützzeitraums nur in begrenztem Masse eingesetzt werden, um ökonomische, auf Liechtenstein bezogene Sachverhalte unter die Lupe zu nehmen.
