US-Leistungsbilanz: Eine Zwischenbilanz vor der Wahl

Abstract

Trotz des protektionistischen Kurses ist das Leistungsbilanzdefizit der USA zwischen 2016 und 2019 um 21,6 Prozent gestiegen. Die Entwicklungen folgen der ökonomischen Theorie: In einer globalisierten Welt ist es bei einem expansiven fiskalpolitischen Kurs wie in den letzten Jahren und mit der wichtigsten Reservewährung der Welt kaum denkbar, dass der Wunsch des amtierenden Präsidenten Donald Trump nach einer ausgeglichenen Leistungsbilanz in Erfüllung geht.
