Währungsunion und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der DDR-Industrie

Abstract

Die Diskussion über den ökonomisch sinnvollen Kurs, mit dem laufende Zahlungen zu Beginn der deutschen Wirtschafts- und Währungsunion von Mark der DDR in D-Mark umgerechnet werden sollten, konzentriert sich zunehmend auf die wahrscheinlichen Konsequenzen für die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der DDR-Industrie. Diese Wettbewerbsfähigkeit - und damit das mögliche Ausmaß der Anpassungsarbeitslosigkeit in der DDR - ergibt sich aus einem Vergleich der Preise und Produktionskosten, wie sie nach der Umstellung für DDR-Produzenten maßgebend sein werden.
