Zur schwachen Entwicklung der Unternehmensinvestitionen in den Vereinigten Staaten

Abstract

Die Unternehmensinvestitionen in den Vereinigten Staaten haben sich seit Ende 2015 äußerst schwach entwickelt und wiesen in den vergangenen drei Quartalen sogar negative Zuwachsraten aus. Zum einen dürfte dies auf die Konsolidierung in der Schieferölindustrie zurückzuführen sein: in Folge des gesunkenen Rohölpreises ist es zu einem Einbruch der Aktivität in diesem Bereich gekommen. Ein Rückgang der Investitionstätigkeit verwundert daher kaum: auf dem Höhepunkt des Schieferölbooms hatte der Bergbau einen Anteil von über 30 Prozent an den Wirtschaftsbauinvestitionen, im zweiten Quartal 2016 lag dieser bei nur noch 10 Prozent. So weisen denn die Investitionen in Wirtschaftsbauten bereits seit dem ersten Quartal 2015 einen negativen Expansionsbeitrag zur Veränderungsrate der gesamten Unternehmensinvestitionen aus.
