Entwicklung der Freien Berufe in Nordrhein-Westfalen und seinen Regionen im Zeitraum 2002 bis 2011

Abstract

Ein ausreichendes Angebot an freiberuflichen Dienstleistungen ist für eine funktionierende Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft von grundlegender Bedeutung. Aus regionalpolitischer Sicht ist eine Ansiedlung freiberuflicher Niederlassungen daher in allen Regionen in hohem Maß wünschenswert. Die Freien Berufe standen allerdings bislang selten im Fokus regionaler Analysen. Die vorliegende Studie hilft, diese Lücke zu schließen. Auf Basis einer Sonderauswertung des Mikrozensus untersucht sie die Entwicklung der Freien Berufe in den städtischen und ländlichen Regionen Nordrhein-Westfalens zwischen 2002 und 2011. Differenziert wird dabei zwischen den Agglomerationsgebieten am Rhein und an der Ruhr sowie den übrigen, dünner besiedelten Regionen. Es zeigt sich, dass die betrachteten Regionen sowohl im Hinblick auf die Niederlassungsintensität als auch auf die Zusammensetzung der Freien Berufe und ihre Entwicklung deutliche Unterschiede aufweisen.
