Innovationskraft stärken: Zum Innovationsgeschehen in Nordrhein-Westfalen

Abstract

Unternehmen in NRW haben in den vergangenen Jahren im Bundesvergleich deutlich unterdurchschnittlich in F&E investiert. Der Anteil der Unternehmen des Landes, die in den vergangenen Jahren ihre bestehenden Produkte weiterentwickelt haben, entspricht dem Bundesniveau. Nachholbedarf besteht jedoch bei der Entwicklung vollständig neuer Produkte. Die seit mehreren Jahren sinkende Zahl neu abgeschlossener Ausbildungsverträge der beruflichen Erstausbildung sowie das im Bundesvergleich unterdurchschnittliche betriebliche Weiterbildungsengagement schwächen den Innovationsstandort NRW. Die Zahl der Studierenden und Absolventen in MINT-Fächern ist überdurchschnittlich stark gestiegen. Diesem Angebot an Hochqualifizierten steht jedoch ein im Bundesvergleich unterdurchschnittliches Arbeitsplatzangebot in nordrhein-westfälischen Unternehmen gegenüber. Die damit einhergehende größere Abwanderungsgefahr qualifizierter Arbeitskräfte hemmt die Dynamik und künftige Entwicklung des Innovationsstandorts NRW.
