Wovon hängt die Leistung in Forschung und Lehre ab? Eine Analyse deutscher betriebswirtschaftlicher Fachbereiche basierend auf den Daten des Centrums für Hochschulentwicklung

Abstract

Das Centrum für Hochschulentwicklung veröffentlicht alle drei Jahre Rankings von Hochschulen zu einzelnen Studienfächern. Hierbei werden verschiedene Leistungsindikatoren (zum Beispiel zu Publikationen, der Reputation und der Studienzufriedenheit) herangezogen, um die Bewertung einzelner Fachbereiche zu ermöglichen. Basierend auf den Daten des CHE aus dem Jahr 2008 sowie einem kürzlich veröffentlichen neuen Ranking (2011) werden in der vorliegenden Analyse fachbereichsübergreifend die wichtigsten Einflüsse auf die Leistung in den Bereichen Forschung und Lehre analysiert. Für die Forschung werden hierbei sowohl die Einflüsse auf die Forschungsreputation als auch auf die nationalen und internationalen Publikationen untersucht. Für die Lehre werden diejenigen Faktoren analysiert, welche die Gesamtzufriedenheit der Studierenden mit der Lehre an den Fachbereichen erklären. Als wesentlicher Einfluss auf die Forschungsreputation erweist sich die nationale und internationale Publikationsleistung, wobei hier von 2008 zu heute eine Entwicklung weg von nationalen und hin zu internationalen Publikationen erkennbar ist. Promotionen haben einen Einfluss auf nationale Publikationen, wohingegen Habilitationen einen Einfluss auf internationale Publikationen haben. Forschungsgelder wirken positiv auf nationale wie internationale Publikationen. Für die Zufriedenheit der Studierenden zeigt sich, dass diese an privaten Hochschulen höher ist an als öffentlichen Universitäten. Daneben spielt der Einbezug der Praxis, etwa durch Praktiker in der Lehre oder Praxisbeiräte, eine wesentliche Rolle.
