Abstract

Im Jahr 2012 wurden in Deutschland insgesamt fast 80 Mrd. € für Forschung und Entwicklung (FuE) in Unternehmen, Hochschulen und anderen Forschungseinrichtungen aufgewendet, was fast genau 3 % des Bruttoinlandsprodukts (BIP) entspricht. Mit 53,8 Mrd. € (2 % des BIP) werden gut zwei Drittel davon für die Durchführung von FuE in der Wirtschaft aufgewendet. Forschung und Entwicklung gewinnen für die Unternehmen in Deutschland weiter an Bedeutung. Die Krise im Jahr 2009 hat offenbar nur für eine kurzzeitige Friktion gesorgt, zumal Steigerungen der FuE-Aufwendungen im öffentlichen Sektor zur Kompensation beigetragen haben.
