La duración del desempleo de la mujer casada en Galicia

Abstract

Es indiscutible la importancia que todavía sigue manteniendo el paro en nuestro país debido a las repercusiones que tiene tanto a nivel económico como social. En este trabajo presentamos un estudio que dividiremos en dos partes. En la primera ofrecemos un análisis de la duración del desempleo de la mujer casada gallega durante el periodo 1987-1997 a partir de los datos de la Encuesta de Población Activa (E.P.A.) comparando, además, las cifras gallegas con las correspondientes a España. Dado que el tiempo de permanencia en el desempleo puede venir determinado por distintas características de la mujer y su familia, en una segunda parte del trabajo presentamos resultados sobre la influencia, significativa o no, de algunas de estas variables. Las estimaciones se realizan en base a la técnica propuesta por de Uña Álvarez (2004 a y b) para datos sesgados por longitud y censurados.
