Demanda de transporte. Efectos del cambio en la oferta ferroviaria del corredor Galicia-Madrid

Abstract

El análisis de rentabilidad de una inversión pública requiere una evaluación ex ante de sus efectos económicos. En el caso concreto de las infraestructuras de transporte, el elemento clave para estimar estos efectos es la cuantificación de los cambios en la demanda de transporte. Este artículo desarrolla un modelo de demanda de transporte, consistente con la teoría de la utilidad, a partir de una reformulación del modelo de Hausman, Leonard y McFadden (1995) que se adapta a las características específicas del transporte incorporando una dimensión monetaria y temporal, y teniendo en cuenta la existencia de diferentes alternativas para efectuar el mismo desplazamiento. La principal aportación de este trabajo es que permite obtener simultáneamente dos decisiones tradicionalmente analizadas por separado como son el número de desplazamientos y la elección modal. Finalmente, otra aportación destacable de este trabajo es su aplicación a un proyecto público pendiente de ejecución como es la conexión Galicia-Madrid con un servicio ferroviario de Alta Velocidad.
