Valoración del Seguro de Cesantía en Chile: Simulación de Beneficios con Datos Individuales

Abstract

El Seguro de Cesantía en Chile está basado en cuentas individuales y tiene por objeto entregar un beneficio monetario en períodos de cesantía a los trabajadores formales del sector privado, pero con los incentivos adecuados para evitar potenciales comportamientos oportunistas. Este estudio pretende generar una medida cuantificable del beneficio que entrega el Seguro de Cesantía y la valoración que le dan los trabajadores a través de la utilidad total esperada al inicio de la vida activa de un trabajador. Para esto se utilizan datos previsionales para la cohorte nacida entre 1956-1961, quienes ingresaron a la vida activa a comienzos de los años ochenta, por lo que contamos con su historia previsional real hasta diciembre de 2004, a quienes se le proyectó el resto de su vida activa desde enero de 2005 hasta la edad legal de jubilación. La evaluación de una vida laboral completa permite cuantificar la valoración de los trabajadores por un Seguro de Cesantía con las características del sistema implementado en Chile..
