Abstract

The paper is based on the findings of the research work “Monitoring of faculty members’ professional practices and working conditions in Russian Federation’s academies”, conducted by the team of the Field Research Center of the Institute for Social Analysis and Forecasting (RANEPA) in 2023. The purpose of the study is to conduct the sixth wave of monitoring of university teachers as well as to investigate modern attainments and competencies, to identify the main adaptation’s paths of faculty members in the current socio-economic conditions of the educational process’ organization. The objectives of the study are to develop a survey toolkit for online monitoring, to conduct an administrative survey on a non-random river sample, to analyze teachers’ professional skills and their managerial features of the work process in the current socio-economic conditions and to elaborate recommendations for increasing the degree of adaptability and flexibility in the educational environment. Methods applied include online survey, administrative survey. The new stage of the research was aimed at analyzing teachers’ perceptions of work organization, their motivation, professional satisfaction and social well-being. The object of the research is university teachers and its administration. The subject of the study is the university teachers’ professional adaptation during a period of rapid socio-economic changes and digital transformation of the academic environment and educational processes. The results of this research work comprise a developed methodology for studying the organization of teaching activities, based on administrative survey of the main participants in educational process (university teachers, administrative staff), the identified basic professional practices in order to improve the quality of expert analytical work and educational programs, as well as the assessments of the modern educational agenda and its prospects, affecting the organization of workspace and time, and lifestyle in general.
