Acceso a servicios financieros de los hogares en el Perú

Abstract

Un sistema financiero sólido es beneficioso para el crecimiento de los países; al permitir a los hogares contar con instrumentos financieros y desarrollar sus capacidades financieras, se logra un mayor bienestar económico y se incentiva el desarrollo de los mercados financieros, contribuyendo a reducir la pobreza y desigualdad. En tal sentido, este trabajo propone una metodología que ayude a conocer la evolución del acceso a servicios financieros utilizando las Encuestas Nacionales de Hogares sobre Condiciones de Vida y Pobreza (ENAHO) realizadas por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática del Perú (INEI) entre 2004-2014. Luego, también con la base de datos de ENAHO, se analizan los determinantes del acceso a los servicios financieros; donde se encuentra una relación positiva entre ingreso, educación, y edad en el nivel de bancarización, y una relación negativa entre quienes viven en el área rural y están en pobreza extrema.
