Abstract

The universities and mainly yours postgraduate programs have an important role for the generation of scientific and technological knowledge, which are a potential base for socioeconomic development by means of innovations. In this article we intend to examine the structure and evolution of postgraduate programs, professors and students in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, in the period of 2000 through 2010. Conclusively the study shows the significant progress of postgraduate degrees in national level and in Rio Grande do Sul better, quantitatively and qualitatively.
