Facteurs déterminants la recherche et le développement dans l'industrie: Résultats d'une enquête écrite sur l'industrie suisse
[Factors affecting R&D in the manufactiring industry: empirical results for Switzerland]

Abstract

La présente étude résume les résultats obtenus lors de l'enquête effectuée en été 1988 sur les facteurs déterminant la R&D dans l'industrie suisse. Parmi les 940 entreprises sélectionnées, 358 ou environ 38 % d'entre elles ont répondu au questionnaire. Elles se répartissent en 127 genres d'activités économiques différents. L'analyse c'est concentrée sur les deux facteurs déterminant la R&D, à savoir- - l'appropriation des résultats de R&D - les chances technologiques Les résultats de cette enquête ont un intérêt particulier pour la politique de la recherche et des brevets des entreprises individuelles et de l'Etat. En outre, il a été montré que l'efficacité des brevets comme moyen de protection des résultats de la R&D était considérée de façon différente selon le genre d'activités économiques. Dans l'industrie chimique, et plus particulièrement pharmaceutique, les brevets jouent un rôle très significatif de protection, ce qui n'est pas le cas pour les autres industries. Une politique des brevets différenciée serait à recommander. Les informations obtenues concernant les sources du progrès technique, l'importance de la recherche fondamentale et appliquée et de la recherche universitaire mettent en évidence les 19 domaines dans lesquels, du point de vue de l'économie privée, devrait se concentrer la politique de l'Etat en matière de recherche. Dans une étude précédente (Harabi 1992), le rapport entre les déterminants de la R&D, les dépenses en R&D et d'autres indicateurs de la capacité innovatrice de l'industrie suisse avait été statistiquement analysé. Les résultats montrent lesquels des facteurs déterminants de la R&D déjà mentionnés sont statistiquement plus importants
