Abstract

The logit model has a dual nature. On the one hand it refers to a regression model where the dependent variable is binary. On the other hand it is an alternative to linear discriminant analysis. Moreover logit model may be considered as a discrete choice economic model. The aim of the document is two-fold. Firstly key features of the logit model are presented and on this occasion basic notions such as estimation method or hypothesis testing are recalled. Secondly the model is applied to data on education and in particular stresses on how to present results.
