Qualitätskontrolle und Qualitätssignale in der Wirtschaftsprüfung - Eine empirische Evaluierung des Nutzens für Mandanten

Abstract

Die Qualitätskontrolle ist in der Wirtschaftsprüfung ein aktuelles Thema. Mit der Option bzw. dem Zwang einer externen Qualitätskontrolle und den entsprechenden Zertifizierungsmöglichkeiten besteht die Möglichkeit zur Differenzierung am Markt. Hierbei ist insbesondere auch die Frage relevant, inwieweit das System der Qualitätskontrolle geeignet ist, den Nachfragern nach Prüfungsleistungen, den Mandanten, sowie anderen Stakeholdern als Nutzer dieses "Qualitätssignals" (Prüfungs)-Qualität zu signalisieren. In Rahmen dieses Beitrags wird empirisch untersucht, ob und wann es sich für Wirtschaftsprüfer - in Abhängigkeit der nachgefragten Leistung (Steuerberatung, Jahresabschlussprüfung oder Unternehmensbewertung) - lohnt, sich der externen Qualitätskontrolle zu unterziehen bzw. ob und wann es für einen Wirtschaftsprüfer (WP-Gesellschaft) sinnvoll ist, sich auch als Prüfer für Qualitätskontrolle registrieren zu lassen.
