Abstract

Uses data, interviews and policy reviews to examine major trends during the period 1996-2005 and issues regarding work-family conflicts, particularly women coping with both the need to earn an income and to provide care for their families. Concludes with necessary policy measures to reduce the stress of individual coping mechanisms. Appends the questionnaires used in interviewing departments, NGOs and advocacy groups on family traditions and child care; parents and family members; and human resource managers.
