Abstract

Working paper on working conditions of Pakistani migrant workers in the Middle East, with particular reference to their situation in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates - examines the findings of a survey carried out from 1976 to 1983 and covering grievances with regard to breach of labour contracts, non-payment of wages, food and housing allowances and social security, etc.; considers recruitment malpractices and allegations against government agencys; includes recommendations. References, statistical tables. Restricted.
