Abstract

Working paper on basic needs satisfaction through the provision of public services and social services in Sri Lanka, presenting a case study of the Kandy urban area - examines strategy, institutional frameworks, administrative aspects, public expenditure and macro-economic trends, and covers food subsidies, health services, housing, transport, educational facilities and essential services. Graphs, map and statistical tables.
