Abstract

Working paper on simulation economic models for national level economic and social development, presenting a comparison of research results from Brazil, Colombia, India and Kenya - discusses the elements of a basic needs strategy, research method and the main features of the models, and examines the likely trends (demographic aspects, economic structure, employment, basic needs, income distribution, etc.), to the year 2000.
