Erwerbstätigkeit von Frauen: Die Betreuung der Kinder ist der Schlüssel

Abstract

Das IAB untersucht den Einfluss des Erziehungsurlaubs auf den Berufsverlauf von Frauen. Hierzu wurde im Jahre 2000 eine telefonische Erhebung bei 3000 west- und ostdeutschen Frauen durchgeführt, deren Kinder nach 1991 geboren waren. Ausgehend von dem Geburtsdatum des ersten, nach 1992 geborenen Kindes, wurde der gesamte Erwerbsverlauf der Frauen bis zum Befragungszeitpunkt erhoben. Auf der Grundlage des Datenmaterials wird in dem Beitrag das Beschäftigungspotenzial von Frauen abgeschätzt. Vorab wird die Entwicklung der Frauenerwerbstätigkeit auf der Basis von Mikrozensus-Ergebnissen dargestellt. (IAB2)
