PME et innovation environnementale : une étude empirique sur données d’entreprises françaises

Abstract

Cet article est une contribution empirique à l'économie et au management de l'innovation qui porte sur la relation entre le développement des innovations environnementales et le leadership d'innovation des firmes – que l'on peut définir comme la construction d'une capacité dynamique fondée sur des innovations persistantes de plusieurs types ainsi que des politiques de R&D spécifiques qui permettent aux firmes de saisir de nouvelles opportunités technologiques. Il est ainsi défendu l'idée que les petites et moyennes entreprises (PME) qui sont des « leaders d'innovation » sont celles qui mettent en œuvre des innovations environnementales. Notre étude se fonde sur les enquêtes communautaires sur l'innovation (CIS) et utilise un modèle d'estimation de sélection de type Heckman basé sur un échantillon de 162 PME pour étudier les différentes formes de leadership d'innovation qui influent positivement sur l'introduction des innovations environnementales. Nous trouvons un impact empirique positif du leadership sur l'éco-innovation qui est mesuré de manière originale à partir de la « persistance d'innovation ».
