Abstract

Tout phénomène social se déroule dans le temps. Les sciences sociales pourtant n'ont pas beaucoup mobilisé ni explicité la notion de processus qui permet de rendre compte de cette dynamique temporelle. L'analyse processuelle est indispensable pour interpréter des phénomènes qui s'inscrivent dans la durée, qui évoluent, qui connaissent des événements ou des crises, qui intègrent des mutations à des échelles diverses. Cet ouvrage propose une théorie alliée à une méthode d'analyse des processus biographiques et organisationnels. Il développe un système original reposant sur quatre concepts-clés : les ingrédients issus du contexte, les séquences, les moteurs et les bifurcations. Chacun de ces concepts est expliqué et discuté, puis illustré par des travaux empiriques montrant que ce système d'analyse est susceptible de s'appliquer à des types de processus très divers. L'explicitation finale de la méthode vise à aider le lecteur à opérationnaliser cette démarche dans ses propres travaux.
