Abstract

Nations can be considered as the forms of political organizations that peoples give themselves. It is common to say that globalisation would do for the best by leading to the end of nations. But history of capitalism shows that this idea is questionable. Indeed, globalisation is only a stage in the development of Capital, which has always been leaning on some nations in order to proliferate, Great-Britain yesterday and USA nowadays. The true question is that of the hegemony of a nation over others and finally that of democracy: peoples' sovereignty facing Capital.
