Abstract

This research analyzes how fan communities of musical stars carry out narrative work, by co-writing their idol's story. Three fan communities have been studied, using ethnographic and netnographic methods. The article details six stages through which the process of the star's narrative co-construction by her fans unfolds. It finally examines which policies managers can work on.
