Leadership autocratique et résilience organisationnelle : les leçons de la série Succession face aux crises

Abstract

Succession est une série télévisée dramatique américaine de 4 saisons et 39 épisodes, créée par Jesse Armstrong et diffusée par HBO de 2018 à 2023. Elle met en scène les dynamiques d'une puissante famille, propriétaire d'un empire médiatique international. Parmi différentes thématiques organisationnelles et managériales évoquées par la série, elle présente la survie de la firme face aux crises successives auxquelles elle est confrontée. Elle met ainsi en lumière sa résilience organisationnelle. Qui reste pourtant un concept complexe et abstrait dans la littérature, et parfois difficilement observable et mesurable. La série permet ainsi d'illustrer et d'étudier le développement de la résilience organisationnelle, au travers notamment du rôle d'un style de leadership autocratique face aux crises. Dans cet article, au travers d'une étude qualitative, nous étudierons donc l'impact du leadership en situation de crise sur la résilience organisationnelle, en mobilisant comme référence et donnée empirique la série HBO Succession.
