Abstract

Ce focus présente les résultats d'une étude pluridisciplinaire financée par le ministère suédois des Affaires Etrangères dont l'objectif était de réinterroger les processus migratoires dans la région de Kayes. Réunissant pendant deux ans une dizaine de chercheur.e.s, doctorant.e.s et étudiant.e.s, trois questions ont animé cette recherche.- Les effets des processus migratoires sur les rapports de pouvoir. Tout d'abord au sein des familles, en examinant comment se négocie la positionsociale des membres des unités domestiques touchées par les migrations. Ensuite, au sein de la sphère politique malienne, en étudiant comment le phénomène migratoire entraine aux échelles communale, régionale et nationale des (re)configurations politiques.- Les ressorts actuels des aspirations à migrer des jeunes hommes et jeunes femmes de Kayes, en examinant notamment si les informations sur les conditions en migration sont un constitutif de ces aspirations.- Le phénomène des retours en migration. Il s'est agi de comprendre l'ampleur de ce phénomène et d'identifier si de nouvelles dynamiques sedessinent notamment en ce qui concerne le retour des femmes et leurs insertions sociales et économiques au Mali.
